Labrador-Island Transmission Link Investment

The Labrador–Island Transmission Link Project consists of an HVdc transmission system that runs from central Labrador to Soldiers Pond in Newfoundland. Nalcor Energy managed and executed the design, engineering, construction, operation and maintenance of the Labrador–Island Transmission Link. Emera will invest in this project in an amount such that the total Emera investment in the various transmission projects described in the Term Sheet between Emera and Nalcor does not exceed 49 percent of the aggregated capital costs. This investment is held by Emera Newfoundland & Labrador Holdings Inc.’s wholly owned subsidiary, Emera Newfoundland & Labrador Island Link Inc.

Nalcor's Muskrat Falls Hydroelectric Generation Project


The Muskrat Falls Hydroelectric Generation Project will have a capacity of 824 MW and an expected average energy production of 4.9 terawatt hours (TWh). Nalcor Energy has sole ownership of this project and managed and executed the design, engineering, construction, operation and maintenance of the generating facilities at Muskrat Falls and the associated Labrador transmission line to the existing Churchill Falls facility.
