NSPML has awarded Abengoa S.A. with the contract for the construction of approximately 400 km of transmission lines in the provinces of Newfoundland and Labrador and Nova Scotia for the Maritime Link Project. The contract includes construction of new HVDC/HVAC lines on the island of Newfoundland and Nova Scotia, construction of new grounding lines in both provinces and procurement of all materials associated with the lines, excluding long lead items such as steel structures and conductors. Work will begin in Q2 of this year and it is expected to take approximately two years to complete.
