Commercial Fish Harvesters
The Maritime Link has been in operations since January 2018. Emera Newfoundland and Labrador (ENL) has operated two submarine cables spanning the Cabot Strait between Cape Ray, NL and Point Aconi, NS. The two 170km long submarine cables are buried in the seabed and are currently identified on nautical charts for protection.
During construction of the Maritime Link, ENL established Fisheries Liaison Committees as a forum for the engagement and collaboration with local fish harvesters. ENL continues to be engaged with community fish harvesters and groundfish harvesters to share information on marine activities and address questions and concerns.
Details on the location of the submarine cables can be downloaded from this site using the link under the Submarine Cables Mapping Library.
